Somalia Holds VPOP and Cash-POP Alignment Workshop Ahead of Gavi 6.0 Application

Somalia's Federal Ministry of Health and Human Services held an alignment workshop on the country's Vaccine Portfolio Optimization and Prioritization (VPOP) and Cash Portfolio Optimization and Prioritization (Cash-POP) in Nairobi on 2 October 2026, with technical support from SORDI and Development Catalysts.

The workshop brought together the national EPI team, WHO Somalia and EMRO regional office representatives, UNICEF Somalia and Centre of Excellence representatives, implementing partners, and civil society organizations.

The session focused on aligning the VPOP and Cash-POP outcomes to produce a coherent and timely Gavi 6.0 application for the 2026–2030 funding period. Participants reviewed outstanding deliverables, agreed on responsibilities across the team, and set deadlines to ensure all required inputs are completed ahead of the submission deadline.
