On 14 October 2025, the Somali Research and Development Institute (SORDI) was honored to participate in the Private Sector Partnerships in Health (PSPH) Stakeholder Meeting, held at Airport Hotel, Mogadishu. The event brought together a diverse group of health sector actors committed to advancing access to quality and affordable healthcare across Somalia.

Organized under the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC)-funded PSPH programme, the meeting convened representatives from DT Global Africa, private hospitals, Baraka Takaful Insurance, Yenisom Pharmaceuticals Company, the Somali Medical Association, and other partner institutions. It served as a dynamic platform for reflection, learning, and forward planning

Participants shared inspiring success stories from Phase One, highlighting how collaborative efforts have helped bridge gaps in service delivery, strengthen private sector engagement, and expand healthcare access for underserved communities. The discussions also surfaced key lessons learned—ranging from innovative financing models to the importance of inclusive stakeholder coordination.

For SORDI, the meeting was a valuable opportunity to engage with partners who share our commitment to evidence-based solutions and sustainable health systems. We were especially encouraged by the shared vision for Phase Two, which centers on deepening partnerships, scaling successful interventions, and fostering innovation across Somalia’s health landscape.

As we move forward, SORDI remains dedicated to contributing meaningfully through research, strategic communications, and programme implementation. We believe that lasting impact is built through collaboration, transparency, and a shared sense of purpose.

Together, we continue building a healthier, more resilient future for all Somalis.
