The Somali Research and Development Institute (SORDI), in collaboration with Dhiblawe Clinic and as part of the Private Sector Partnerships in Health (PSPH) project—implemented by DT Global, SORDI, and Swiss TPH—recently hosted a healthcare networking event at RB Hotel in Baidoa, Southwest Somalia. This initiative brought together a diverse group of health providers and associations from across the region to promote dialogue, foster collaboration, and explore solutions that address key challenges in healthcare delivery. At the heart of the event was a shared commitment: ensuring that communities—regardless of location—can access timely, specialized medical care through efficient referral systems. Dhiblawe Clinic, a Mogadishu-based specialized facility, presented its suite of healthcare services, emphasizing how collaboration with health actors in Baidoa could improve continuity of care and streamline service delivery. The event underscored the need for coordinated systems, where local and referral facilities work hand in hand to close service gaps and reduce delays in treatment.
By facilitating direct engagement between Baidoa-based providers and Dhiblawe’s medical team, the event helped lay the foundation for a robust referral network—one that can help bridge regional gaps in access to quality care. This networking initiative reflects SORDI’s broader vision to support sustainable health partnerships and reinforce the effectiveness of Somalia’s healthcare infrastructure through collaboration, innovation, and knowledge exchange. As SORDI continues its work under the PSPH project, events like this play a vital role in translating strategy into impact—bringing institutions together to create lasting systems that serve communities better.
