The official signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Somali Medical Association (SMA) and the Private Sector Partnerships in Health (PSPH) project marks a significant milestone. This event brought together representatives from the PSPH project, SMA members, the NHPC General Director, and a representative from Villa Somalia to discuss vital developments in our healthcare system.

The Cooperation Agreement between the PSPH programme and the Somali Medical Association (SMA) is a major step towards enhancing healthcare quality in Somalia. The PSPH programme, funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and implemented by DT Global in partnership with the Somali Research and Development Institute (SORDI) and the Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute (Swiss TPH), aims to provide healthcare business management consulting to private sector partners. Our ultimate goal is to expand access to quality, affordable healthcare for all Somalis and to strengthen the role of the private sector in building a sustainable healthcare system.

Through this agreement, we are committed to improving both business and clinical competencies of healthcare providers, promoting high standards of practice, and fostering a culture of continuous professional development. This collaboration will undoubtedly lead to better healthcare outcomes and a stronger healthcare system for the people of Somalia.

The event was an excellent opportunity to bring together key stakeholders, facilitating discussions on the challenges and opportunities within our healthcare system. It highlighted the importance of collaboration and partnership in driving positive change and improving the overall quality of healthcare services.

We look forward to working closely with our partners to achieve our shared goals and make significant strides in the healthcare sector. Together, we can create a healthier and more prosperous future for all Somalis
