Hayat Diagnostics, supported by the Somali Research and Development Institute (SORDI) through the Private Sector Partnerships in Health (PSPH) project, held a successful networking event at Bura’o International Hotel. The PSPH project, implemented by SORDI, DT Global, and the Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute (Swiss TPH), aims to strengthen healthcare services by fostering collaborations between the private sector and healthcare providers.

The event was attended by 86 participants, including representatives from public hospitals like Bura’o Referral Hospital, Khalifa Hospital, and Manhal Hospital, as well as private providers such as Togdheer Hospital, Gargaar Hospital, Siraj Hospital, and Al Amana Hospital. Participants enthusiastically received Hayat Diagnostics’ advanced tools and reports, recognizing their potential to significantly improve local healthcare services. Many emphasized the necessity of establishing a Hayat Diagnostics facility in Bura’o to enhance access to quality diagnostics and reduce patient referrals to distant locations such as Hargeisa, Wajale, and Ethiopia. Additionally, they highlighted the crucial role of private ambulance services in transporting patients seeking diagnostic and specialized medical services outside the region.

The primary objective of the event was to establish strong partnerships between Hayat Diagnostics and healthcare providers in Bura’o, facilitating access to advanced diagnostic services and reducing medical tourism. All participating healthcare providers expressed strong interest in integrating Hayat Diagnostics’ services into their patient care processes.

The event effectively raised awareness about Hayat Diagnostics and built strong connections with healthcare providers. Key next steps include opening a Hayat Diagnostics facility in Bura’o, strengthening partnerships with private and public healthcare institutions, exploring collaborations with private ambulance services, and organizing follow-up engagements. Implementing these measures will improve local healthcare services, ensuring that diagnostic solutions are readily available within the community.

The Somali Research and Development Institute (SORDI) is dedicated to enhancing healthcare services in Somalia through research and strategic partnerships. The PSPH project, funded by the Swiss Agency for Development (SDC) and is implemented by SORDI, DT Global, and Swiss TPH. Together, we are committed to transforming healthcare in Bura’o by making advanced diagnostic services accessible and fostering a healthier community.
