The official launch ceremony for the second phase of Kaaliye Care, an innovative and affordable health insurance package tailored for the mass market, was successfully held in Mogadishu. Organized by Barako Insurance in collaboration with The Somali Research and Development Institute (SORDI) as part of the Private Sector Partnerships in Health (PSPH) Project, the event emphasized a shared commitment to improving access to quality healthcare across Somalia.

Kaaliye Care is designed to provide affordable health packages for the mass market, ensuring greater accessibility to essential healthcare services for individuals and families across the country. The event brought together a diverse audience, including representatives from civil society, Islamic scholars, SMEs, banks, private hospitals, ministers, and members of both houses of the Federal Parliament of Somalia.

One of the key highlights was the signing of four strategic Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) between Barako Insurance and its partners: Baano Telemedicine, iScan, Maal Microfinance Company, and Zamzam University. These partnerships are expected to enhance the reach and effectiveness of the Kaaliye Care initiative.

The second phase of Kaaliye Care marks a significant milestone in providing affordable healthcare solutions in Somalia. With the collaborative efforts of Barako Insurance, SORDI, and various key partners, the initiative is set to make quality healthcare accessible to a broader population, enhancing the overall well-being of the Somali people.
