Abstract

This publication set presents the external evaluation of the Bar ama Baro (BAB) accelerated basic education programme in Somalia, drawing on a two-year longitudinal study examining programme effectiveness, learning outcomes across BAB and formal primary levels, and lessons for sustainability and scalability. Findings draw on 74 focus group discussions, 127 key informant interviews, 939 student surveys and learning assessments, 49 teacher surveys, and 680 exit surveys with parents and non-retained teachers, published across baseline, midline, and final reports.
