The British Somali Medical Association (BSMA) hosted the European Somali Medical Conference 2026 in London, bringing together Somali healthcare professionals from across the Diaspora and Somalia.
Following the conference's memorable debut in Helsinki, the London edition provided an important platform for networking, knowledge sharing, professional development and collaboration across the Somali healthcare community.
The conference highlighted the achievements of Somali healthcare professionals and explored key healthcare challenges and opportunities in Somalia.
Key highlights included inspiring narratives from pioneers in healthcare, critical updates on healthcare in Somalia, interactive workshops on clinical Somali language skills and professional resilience, and an Abstract Competition showcasing research and innovative projects.
The conference provided an important opportunity for healthcare professionals to connect, share knowledge and strengthen collaboration between the Somali Diaspora and healthcare professionals working in Somalia.
